SD Type QD Bushings

A QD bushing is a type of bearing that is used to connect a shaft to a pulley or other rotating component. QD stands for “quick disconnect,” and QD bushings are designed to be easily removed and installed. This makes them ideal for applications where the shaft or pulley needs to be frequently removed, such as in conveyor systems or other industrial applications.

QD bushings are typically made of steel or aluminum and have a tapered bore that fits snugly over the shaft. The bushing also has a keyway that engages with a key on the shaft to prevent it from rotating. QD bushings are available in a variety of sizes and styles to fit a wide range of applications.

SD QD bushings are designed for use with QD sprockets and pulleys and are available in a variety of bore sizes. Bushings come with standard keyway diameters, so it is important to select the proper bore diameter. Once the bore diameter is determined, the customer can proceed to select the desired bushing. Sleeves are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 quality management standards. For easy installation and removal, SD QD bushings are designed to mate with PLI QD sprockets.

A good bushing should be free of oil and any anti-seize lubricant. It should then be installed on the shaft with the flange end down. Next, install the sprocket on the bushing, aligning the big end with the bushing. Finally, drill holes and install the pull-up bolts. SD QD bushings are available in metric and splined bores.

How to Install a QD Bushing:

Installing the QD bushing is relatively simple and requires following the same procedures as other bearing types. QD bushings should be clean and free of oil or anti-stuck oil. Next, put the shaft sleeve with the flange end on the shaft. Then, position the sprocket on the bushing and align it with the large end of the bushing. Tighten the bolt to the desired torque, keeping in mind that fully tightening the screw can cause premature failure. After that, drill the hole and insert the pull-up bolt into the bushing.

QD bushings are split-type tapered flange bushings that are connected to the shaft with flanges. These bushings are used in applications such as sprockets, pulleys and pulleys. They are interchangeable between manufacturers and have excellent clamping power. QD bushings are also widely used in industrial environments. A typical QD casing is 4 degrees in diameter and has two cover screws. Another type of QD sleeve is the “weld adapter”. Designed for rotary devices, this casing has a straight OD for easy installation and removal.
